Hunting the Dragon Wrasse

I have to move my dragon wrasse to a larger tank, but I can't seem to catch it. I try for about half an hour every day, for the last three weeks, but it's gotten to a point where he buries himself at the sight of the net. I know where he buries himself, so the question is, "Is it safe to dig the wrasse out, or will it stress the fish too much?" Thanks in advance for all responses.

I dont really have an answer... just an opinion...

We had a 75 gallon reef at work and we got a "chris's fairy wrasse " <--- Spelling

Soon after putting the fish in the tank it dissapeared. We figured that the fish went under the sand to hide...

a month went by and we did not see the fish once...
a year later... no joke... we moved the dealership and had to break down the tank to move... the wrasse had made it town through the overflow, and the first to stages of the sump... and that is where he was find live and well...

I had the same problem. After four days of trying to catch him I got impatient and grabbed him from underneath the sand. I was gentle. He has always been very hardy, never showing a single sign of distress.

If you know where he hides, wait for him to hide or sleep, then put the net over where he will come out of. Then poke behind him in the sand, and out he comes, into the net. Wrasse caught, very little stress, as compared to digging for him.
