Hurricane effects on TBS LR/LS

Will the hurricane coming through (or any hurricane near TBS dive site) effect the life/creatures on the rock? I'm not familiar with how hurricanes effect the ocean floor if it creates huge turbulence or is not very noticeable..

Will there be less life on the rocks post hurricane or will it not be effected?

I live in tampa... and am often in the water (though I dont scuba).

I'd think that for the most part (in the long run), this type of weather will bring in new items...

Short term it might dirty the water, and maybe break off some of the tall/brittle items on the rock (most of which usally isnt sent on the rock anyways).

The worst part about them is no dive time!
