have a very large neon hydnophora and having trouble with placement now that things are growing (things being euphyllia, BTA).... have a prime empty place in a corner but nothing to stick the....stick on. Can I place it directly in the sand?
Never tried sticking it in the sand, I would think you'd have problems with necrosis. Can you glue it to a frag plug, and find a nice place in the rock?
Had the same problem with a green hydnophora that was getting too big for its rocky perch and threating to sting neighbors. I moved in a corner of the tank (with less flow and light) elevated slightly on a small rock on the sand and it is doing fine. If placed slightly above sand I think it will do fine--Hydnos are tough.
