no they we not in stock, i ordered them a few weeks ago, i checked alot of other stores and they we sold out too but didnt have a date for them coming in

Have had mine about a month. Have flipped them on and off quite a few times and they always started the right way. They make no noise whatsoever. Remember mine are the 1's.

Don't know about the wavemaker, I have the flos on my return,(2 running at 400gph each to vary the flow. The fragholder is just a rio mount with eggcrate attached with wire ties. Better pic here.

nice!!! thanks jllndmb, now im going to the fish stuff parts bin in my garage and now i gotta remember where the egg crate went, i was going to use a mag float but that seems easier

jllndmb how do you like the flow of your two #1's in your 37g? Do you wish you had got the #2's? I'm trying to decide between the 1's and 2's for my 29g, I don't want a couple of huge powerheads in my tank because of limited space but at the same time i want enough flow to really make a difference as well.

Omg for 4 of the 4s @ 1200gph each would cost me only 320bucks! Including shipping to Canada in CAD$. Where one Vortec would cost me 450$ at the lfs. Im glad the price for this technology is coming down! im saving 100$ and getting more flow....

i have (2) 3`s in my 120 and i like them, good flow, dont get me wrong they are not tunze but great value for the price.

Hey kid, on my returns I have 400 gph each also. I did mine this way so I didn't need a wavemaker. If you don't have any other flow, I would go with the 2's.

I have a 4 and it does not work well with a wavemaker. The prop always starts out the wrong way befoer it sucks back in and turns the right way. I ended up taking it off of the wavemaker. due to the amount of noise it was making each time it started. I have 2 MJ's that run off the wavemaker and just leave the Hydor on all the time. It does create a lot of flow but it is very big and takes up quite a bit of space. I have a 110 so its not that big of a deal to me. Well worth the price paid for it.

can you place these at the top of your tank...as close to the top as they'll go? I would like to put them in the top rear corners of my tank as close to the top as I can get them and aim them down and pointed at the front of the tank at about a 45 degree angle in an "X" pattern but I don't want to create a whirlpool on the surface or blow my substrate down to barebottom.
