Are you guys working on a way to use these with the profilux?

I would think that unless Hydor Koralia adds a 0-10 v control line
on the wave maher unit similar to the Tunze than it would take
Profilux to build a omplete power/control unit for the Hydor Koralia pumps.

I would doubt profilux would do that as it really would not be cost effective.

That being said you could either modify the Hydor Koralia unit,
or build your own driver unit fron scratch with a 0-10v control line.

I belive there was a thread in the DIR forum where someone
had put a scope on the Hydor Koralia wave maker to see the
wave form and it was a square wave of varying frequency.

As for me I would stick with the Tunze as it is has a larger control range.

Good Luck

They are totaly different

I was going to build up a controller for them,
but wound up thinking it is not worth the effort

I doubt that Hydor will offer power units with 1-10V input in the future...

BUT - here is our brand new information:
right now we are developing a power unit for low voltage pumps, this unit can be connected to the ProfiLux 1-10V-outputs!

This means: pumps like the Koralia can be controlled by ProfiLux in the future!

Argh the info I was not going to give out you have let the cat out the bag Matthias ;)

OK guys I explain a bit further.

In the next couple of months we will have as Matthias states above a "dimmable" power bar, this means with the control of 1-10V it will vary the voltage of AC 110V.

What does this mean? Well as Matthias says firstly it will control pumps like Hydor, or anything that can be varied by reducing or increasing the AC input.

This also "could" include AC variable dimming ballasts but we need to check the ballast stability first.

Once I have a release date i will put a thread up with more info ;)

To make it more clear:

the dimmable power bar and the low voltage pump controller are 2 different things

of course you can use the dimmable powerbar to regulate a 110V motor (pump)

This great new accessory opens the world up of controlling things even further.

Once we get the first batch in sometime in the next 8 weeks we will start to list things they can be used for ;)

110V controlled pumps are the first thing that comes to mind :)

I am hoping to get provisional release dates this week. I will then talk to Matthias about listing all the tried and tested uses for this great devise.

A new thread will be posted in regards to this important new ProfiLux feature

I hope the Koralias can handle the controlling on their durability.

This makes the Profilux much more attractive to me.

Hate to ask the obvious - will this bar be an add-on / retro for current owners or a new feature only in the new units?

I appreciate the help and am excited by the potential.

Hi

It will be an add on accessory similar to the high amp power bar which will be available to everyone that has or is going to have a ProfiLux.

:)

the Koralia controller will be an extra unit which can be connected on any of the L-ports of the ProfiLux - this is not a dimmable powerbar because we control about 12V for these pumps and not 110V or 230V
