Hydor Koralia overrated flow?

I just purchased an Evolution 600 for my new reef, a 24x24x12. I'm looking to add much more flow than the returns and have found its flow very lacking. I've read that Koralias flow is spread out wider, so is this seemingly low flow to be expected?

Mounted on the back wall and pointing forward, the flow barely pushes my new skimmer's micro bubbles to the front pane, and there's certainly nothing disrupting the sandbed, let alone keeping detritus in the water column.

Would you guys recommend upgrading to the 850 size? I'm planning on two of these in a mixed reef tank.

ime, i can tell you and send you pictures of garbage cans full of coralia, rio jaebo, mag drive pumps, do yourself and your wallet a favour and use tunze, or sicce, or ecotech equipment. the stuff lasts and even more important, they are quiet, good luck but unfortunately you will be buying another pump whithin a year. btw your pump sounds defective already... take it back

I've run a Koralia for 2 years. Works fine for me. Just gotta clean them on a regular basis. I would go one size up from what you think you need though.

I have a small tank and bought a koralia nano... then I bought a sicce. The sicce is way better and was only a tiny bit more money.

Ditto. Only one year but no problems with the Koralia's. If you get the third generation there is a model that has three option for output dispersal. They are easy to swap out with no tools required.

If you go that route +1 on getting one size more than you think you need.

Another option is the Jebao PP series wavemaker, likely a PP-4 for your size tank.

I went that route with a PP4. Awaiting delivery. I'll probably end up keeping the Hydor for something or other.

Never had a problem with koralia. Got a 1500 that blows my 100 gallon away.

I have had the housing crack on 2 evolution 600's, tripping my GFI. The second time nearly cost me my whole tank. I Will never put one in my tank again. Hydor didn't care either. I will never buy anything of theirs again. I have been using Jebao for 8 months now with no isssues so far, have 3 of them.
