Hydor Koralia pump

I am thinking about getting model #3, at 850 GPH. Can anybody tell me if these pumps work well and do they last? Pros & cons?

I found one for $49.99 + shipping at Foster & Smith.

Thanks

Joe

Had mine since march, doing great. I have 2 of the #4's. They are on sale for $42.49 @Fosters and Smith, but they are backordered right now.

The flow pattern is kind of strange. I put one #4 in my 125 gal stingray tank just to see what kind of flow they had. I put it on the upper side aimed lengthwise down the tank and it literally blew the GRAVEL into a mound. The flow was not straight out, it was like a cone shaped pattern.

Mine didn't come with the flow adapter either, i just contacted hydor today to see if they will send them to me. I think hey should

i just ordered a couple 3's myself. my old hand-me-down powerheads from the 70s are starting to give out. hah... some local people here use them and told me they really like them, especially for the price.

I have purchased two of the #3's in the last month. I use one for the back side of my reef in the 55 gallon. It seems to work very well and the flow isn't as blasting as the Tunze's I have.
I liked the Hydor so much that I also purchased one for my Tanganyikan cichlid tank. They love it!! It's a nice powerhead for a reasonable price. I also own 3 Tunze 6025's and I love them as well. The new Hydors do come with the flow adaptors, but it still blows my sand into lovely little sand dunes.
