question re these new pumps. Because of there unique flow patterns do you think they need to be on a wave maker for reef flow

As I understand it they are not to be used on a wavemaker.

No. They don't recommend to be used on a wave maker. Just aim them at each other will give you random flow. They're great pumps, I own two #4s and getting atleast 1 more for my 90gal.
