how much more heat could it put out then the current stock pump. Plus im running a ph in the tank and i have had basically no heat issues. If i upgrade to the 1200 im going to eliminate the powerhead due to the rotating flow!
I found they were prone to stoppage after several months of use even with maintenance so I stopped using mine.
My new nano came with one, I took it off and put together a spraybar instead.
i guess i dont understand why they just stop working. I have taken one apart and looked at it and found no reason that it should stop working, other than algae gumming up the gears on the inside which doesnt make sense due to no light getting in there. Its a simple gear drive system isnt it.
Twice what the MJ900 puts out. Do what you want, but I have read on several forums where people were having heat issues after putting in a MJ1200. The AP has heat issues as it is.
see thats just it i dont have heat issues at all. My tank stays comfortably at 77.0 at night and only gets up to 77.9 after the photo period is over. Im going to try it and see what happens.
