hydor?

on my 40 breeder, im going to do a false back wall similar to the aquapods. i was wondering if a mj 1200 with a hydor would be enough for the return, and where, and how high up on the wall should i place the hydor? any and all opinions welcome, and appreciated. thanks alot.

I'm using a Hydor with a maxi 12 at three feet of head and it works fine. At zero head you'll get plenty of flow for SPS but it might be overkill for LPS. You might want to split the return and use two hydors.

yeah a 1200 on a hydor is still pretty high, but they do have a tendency to cut everything in half.

1200 would then equal only 600gph (or flow like it).
800 would be 400 and so on
read the instructions when you get it, this is explained more in depth

the hydor will reduce your flow but not for much, and yes will be really nice thing to have, i use one myself and that thing is great, and for the price even better

Uhhh, A maxijet 1200 moves about 300 gph at zero head.

Yep, I think it's actually 295 but who's counting. My piranha seem to like their maxijet 1200 but I think they need a larger one. May move the 1200 to my 10gal reef.
