Hydroflo installation help for JBJ 12 DX

I have just finished installing on my JBJ 12 DX with a new Maxi Jet 900 the connector tube that runs from the pump to the outside of the tank. I have heard a lot of stories of people having problems having the round flo disk falling off. What is the best way to make sure it stays on - silicone glue? Would you just glue inside the sliding tube but no where near the impellers. Thanks for any suggestions!
