Hydroids HELP?

I have read that hydroids are poisnus.

So my next questing being that if they eat them and die for some unknown reason, do you think they would pull a sea apple kill off?

I don't think that they would die as these are supposed to be like berghia nudibranchs except instead of eating aiptasia they supposedly eat hydroids.

there's different kinds of hydroids. i've heard that salifert flatworm exit does work on hydroids, but is to be used with caution.

lugols doesn't seem to work on them.

don't try tweezing some hydroids in the tank, as i did, because they will just spread to other parts of your tank. tweeze them off in a separate container.

Do you know anyone that has tried this?

Can you or anyone for that matter point me in the direction for more info on this course of treatment?

I pulled the rocks, then used a drill with a 1/2" masonry bit to drill a hole where they were embedded. It also left me with some nice holes for frag plugs.

Have you gone to the Seahorse forum? Panacur will kill hydroids, but it may kill other desirable animals. Many animals can stand the stings of hydriods, although fish fry can not. That is why seahorse people, esp. those w/ dwarf seahorses, know how to deal with them. You could also stop feeding whatever it is that is allowing the hydriods to keep growing (like baby brine.)
