Im setting up a few tanks as quarantine tanks and I. I was thinking aobut setting up three tanks. One bare bottom with normal water conditions (just sea water), one hypo, and one at normal salinity with copper. IS it ok to put copper in the hypo tank? Im not sure if it is ok to treat with both at the same time. Thanks for your time.

Yes .. technically you can use copper in a hypo tank .. but thats not something I would recommend. Hypo is considered an effective treatment against ich and its popular because its not harsh on the fish like copper.

Whats your goal in running 3 QT tanks with different setups?

Well, you have to realize if you have copper in your tank , you'll never be able to build up any bacteria in there, which means if you treat fish in there your tank is going to need huge water changes daily. If you hypo your fish, yo won't have to worry about that and your fish will be less stressed.

First off what are you trying to treat? Hypo is excellent for ich, but does nothing to treat velvet. Copper can be more toxic at lower salinity levels so I wouldn't recommend hypo and copper. Copper treats ich, velvet and other parasites.

Cupramine is an excellent copper treatment that does not kill all good bacteria.
