hypo new fish?

if you're QT'ing new fish and they don't show any signs of ich or other disease...should you hypo or do some other treatment?

basically how should you handle the QT'ing of new fish before introducing to the main tank?

I leave all fish in QT for 4 weeks if they dont get any disease, if they do get a disease then i will slowly bring down the salinity to around 1.010 not sure if thats what i should be putting it at but thats what i put it at. When the disease is gone i bring the salinity back up and leave them in QT for a further 2 weeks and then if they are fine after that i move them to my reef. Im not sure if thats the correct way of doing it but its been working fine for me.
