Hypo - raising SG at the end?

Well,I'm sure there's plenty of people here that know more than me.But I went through this whole hypo thing for 7 weeks at 1.009.
I raised it up .002 every day.It took me about a week to get back to 1.025.It's a lot more stressful for the fish going back up with SG.You'll actually see it,the fish will act a little different like"what's up?".If they start showing any signs of distress slow down.I raised it by taking water out mixing in more salt then airating with a PH and returning to the tank. Also did some water changes in the display and used that water.
Good luck

Bob,

Thanks for that - your method of removing water, salting it up, and adding it back is good actually....... I am working with a system volume of about 300 gals, so the option of partial water changes, as such, is costly in terms of both time and money - every little helps!

Cheers,

Matt

My 02

I usually take a week and use the water from the display tank so by the time the tranfer takes place I don't have to acclimate and can drop the fish in at night when the other fish are asleep.

I have no doubt that I could shave a few days off the "week" and have no problem but I use that week to "deworm" the fish.
