Hyposalinity as an Ich Treatment

Once you do a hyposalinity treatment for 6 weeks that works in eradicating Ich from several affected fish, does the parasite die? Do the fish become healthy enough that the parasite cant attach to them? I am very confused about this and I have read many articles on the subject without ever having the question answered.

It does work too. I'm in week 4 and Im thinking of starting to raise salinity today. Havent seen any sign of ick 3 days into treatment.

Thats great! Now you can start throwing inverts in there after they are QT'd. I am jealous. Wish I was there. A little longer and I will be. This really teaches you patience doesnt it.
