i am currently treating my wrasse that has ich in a quarintine tank with hyposalinty and ich-attack. Im down to 1.016 and am monitoring my ph which is at 7.8?! is this good or bad? should i raise it a lil? if so how?
or should i keep monitoring the ph..it was at 8.0.

any help would be great!
thanx

Yes, you should raise the ph. It should be 8.0-8.3
You can use ph buffer to raise it. Do you have a PS or air pump connected to QT?

i have a a power filter on the qt. it also aslo some live rock in it.
no ps or air pump

i have some seachem reef buffer, so ill go ahead a dose that.

thanx

Make sure you get your salinity down to 1.009 for no less than 4-6 weeks after the last spot of ich is seen and make sure you monitor it with a refractometer.

k, i added some buffer its around 8.1 now.

i added an air pump with an airstone. would that be sufficent?

im doing my 3rd RO water replacement at 12 tonite, which will bring it down to 1.013..= p so much work lol i hope this is worth it.

also while i was researching i was noticing that every site said hyposalinity was at 1.009 @ 27c, i was wondering how important it is to keep the tank at 27c? i know temperature does affect salinity. my tank is currently 24.9c - 25.1c so should i raise it to 27c?

You need to monitor pH and use buffer for raising. O2 wont help it by self.
Temperator and sg is related (not salinity) so yeah i would recommend you to raise.
