I hate to be writing this but due to some things that have come up I will have to be downsizing my tanks. I have a 75 gallon reef with t5 lighting and a 50 gallon eel tank. Me and my dad had a long talk about priorities in my life and where I stand now. The bottom line is, im 16 and have a job, but I cannot afford to keep 2 tanks (1 reef) running. I cannot believe how much I have spent on these two tanks. This will not all happen soon, or atleast i hope not. I will probably NOT be selling any livestock that I have right now. I will wait for the 2 tangs to live out there life and once they die I will downsize to a 30 gallon or so tank. The eels i Havent really decided on as they dont cost near as much to maintain as the reef. I had a deal going through for a 125 gallon tank for my two tangs for an upgrade, but that fell through. So I thought, if you want to downsize, do it now. I will, however, when the two fish that are too big for the 30 gallon die be selling,

75 Gallon tank with stand( not drilled, cherry oak color)$300
60 or so pounds of live rock $2.50 per pound
60 pounds or so of high quality live sand $20
coralife 125 super skimmer $90
48" Nova extreme 216 watt HO t5( individual reflectors, but some are bent to fit inside the light. cost me over 400 dollars to do everything to this light.)$200
2 or 3 powerheads, assorted gph
Red( like fire colored) zoos$15
Green buttom polyps$10
Few firecracker zoos$15
Few blue center, green skirt zoos$15
Dark brown/ purple zoos$20
3X3 patch of neon green star polyps$15
BIG mint green carpet anemone ( like 16" across)$60

It really hurts me to do this but I have really no choice as I will need money for insurance and a car later on. Maybe in like 2 years or so when I move out I will get a big tank agian, like 125+ gallons.

I really dont know how long the powder blue tang and kole tang will live, lol, but if you guys want to reserve some stuff, just pm me and ill try to save it. If I am able to somehow keep the tank I will let you all know, but for now its gotta go. Its a sad day,

Daniel

Wait, your not looking to do it soon and you're waiting for the tangs to live out their lives? Last time I checked tangs can live many years in an aquarium, you might be 25 by the time that happens.

I'll take some of those zoo's off your hands whenever you decide to finally start taking it apart.

yes thats what I was thinking, if there still here by summer I will have to sell them as a 75 is too small for them

Instead of letting your tangs die, why not find them a good home.
Just a thought.

thats what I am going to try to do if there still there by the end of the summer

Doesn't sound like you have confidence in their survival. I'm sure there are plenty of people on here that could give them good homes and ensure their well-being...

no i do totally just the end of summer is like 3 months away. n e thing could happen

anything could happen huh? Sounds like someone might be planning a fish "accident" ;)

I have a 125 that would LOVE to house your Tangs for the rest of their happy lives no matter how long that might be. I will take a couple zoos as well so that they still feel at home... :)

I would love to have your powder blue and not make him suffer anymore. Don't wait for him to die... Thats not what this hobby is about. Let them live to their fullest. give them the home they deserve. I would love to give your powderblue a home. Thanks. Good luck with the change.
