I am so happy! Part Deux

I thought I would update everyone on the progress of the Latz babies.
They went into the main display tank a little over a week ago. My male Bipartus Leopard Wrasse gave them all a warm welcome like he does to any new fish so they were all a little stressed the first few days but once the harrasement subsided they all settled in. They are all doing there own thing right now and have each settled in different anem's throughout the tank. One is hosting in a new green Haddoni, one is hosting in a big Corallimorph (labeled as a sunflower anemone by some online vendors but it is basically a rare type of mushroom), and the third is hosting in a GBTA.

My female WC Picasso Percula has been keeping them in check if they approach my big RBTA.


Here is some even more exciting news. I went into my LFS that got me the original three and look what I came home with.

He got in 4 more Latz babies today so I picked up an additional pair. I am planning on either introducing these into the main display in hopes that they create two pairs or I may setup a seperate breeder tank and try my hand at CB Latz clowns.
I am also thinking about picking up the other pair but I thought I would give some other people the chance to own a pair of these beautiful fish.

I have three Tunze Waveboxes and addiional Tunze streams on the wavebox controller.

They are juvenile Latezonatus Clowns.

Thanks. I still cannot believe how healthy these little guys are when they arrive. The new pair started eating within minutes of going into the QT tank. I am starting to wonder if someone is CB these in AUS because I have never seen so many Juve. Latz avail. in such a short period of time and they seem to already be so well adjusted to captive live. Has anyone heard of anyone breeding these successfully?

Does that pseudo of yours really host? I've had one for a long time now and it refuses to host anything. More like tries to eat them. Can you get some pictures of the hosting?

The clown doesn't dig into it like they do with the Carpet and GBTA. They basically get close to the tentacles when another fish swims by. I have only seen it touch the tentacles once or twice.

i have heard through a very reliable source they are being bred in europe. For years i have not seen a single latz in canada. In the last year though they have popped up in a few stores, especially the juvi's. Just curious,what do the juvenilles cost in the us? Here they range from 100-200cdn each.

I have a adult pair of these guys. I was told they are saddle back clowns, is this true? Also i have read that they have never mated in captivity. There are pics in my gall of my pair iv had them for 2 yrs.

Yes it's true Charlie, you have A. polymnus not A. latezonatus.

Juvy latz are going for $200-300 US. Any chance of your source elaborating on his info badman?

Besides appearance, Latz are very difficult to obtain, much more expensive and are not as hardy IMOP. Latz are known to come from cooler AUS waters but i have not seen that translate over to captive environments.
I admit that it is difficult to tell Juve's of each species apart unless you really know what you're looking for thus many people have gotten scammed when they are sold a Latz baby and it ends up only be a Polymnus.

I have to say that these Juve's grow pretty fast. The original trio has probably grown 1/2" in the last couple of weeks.

yep,those are nice,i original have 6 ,but one die during the quantity.now i have 5 ready for the main display this weekend.i order black and white clown but they're send me this instead .i love the white mustach they're have.i was furious at first when i got my order in.i thought they're send me clocki instead.i will post some picture later when they're go in display tank.

Wow. That is an expensive mistake on someone's part. If they are indeed Latz then you really lucked out. Can't wait to see pics.
