I can't decide on which clownfish!

They're cute! I don't think it matters what kind they are, clowns are so full of personality. Even my killer GBMaroon has tons of personality. :D

well neither of them have eaten anything yet. The LFS said that since they are tank-raised they aren't picky and will eat whatever you give them no problem. we tried feeding them flake food and mysis shrimp but I guess they are too stressed to eat. any suggestions, or do i just need to give them some time? it's only been a day.

Well a days not too bad. I'd probably stack those two rocks across each other so they can feel like they are hiding. Kind of cave like.

I agree they need somewhere to feel safe.

My 2 clowns love formula 1 or 2, hikari marine -s- pellets, and frozen mysis shrimp. I feed mine twice a day. They could be picking at some of the food off of the bottom, when your not watching.

Good Luck!!!

Yeah I still haven't been able to get in touch with the place we got base rock from. We accidentally left it there and then they moved and he said they threw it away but would work something out, so once I contact him we will be getting more rock.

I told my boyfriend to lay the rocks on their sides but he said there is lots of stuff growing on the back of them that he doesn't want to kill so that is why he stacked them that way.

He just fragged a piece of frogspawn that was overgrowing our reef tank and put it in there for them so we will see if they like that for now.

Stuff will grow back. I think a hiding spot might be more important. you could figure out a way to minimize covering up more than you have to. They are really pretty rocks.

go get live brine shrimp. ive acquired over 40 clowns, both wc and captive in the past year and have never failed with difficult eaters with live bs. once they eat it, slowly introduce other food and than slowly take away the brine.

I got a .75-1 inch CB black & white ocellaris about 1.5 months ago... I couldn't get him to eat for a couple days.

What I discovered is that he does NOT like mysis which is half of my normal feeding. And he would eat much of the spirulina I was feeding. I discovered he wouldn't eat anything bigger than a tiny bit.

So, I tried frozen baby brine shrimp(very small) He LOVED it.

I tried, frozen Daphnia(small plankton type food) , HE loved it!

I tried frozen brine shrimp he loved that too.

After a few weeks of feeding these food, heavily. The little fish started to eat the larger pieces of spirulina. He isn's so eager to eat the smaller baby brine shrimp anymore, and is less interested in the daphnia too. But still loves the brine shrimp.

However, he still won't touch the frozen mysis shrimp??

I don't know if this is what is going on with your fish, but thought I'd share my experience as it may help.

Good Luck!

They nipped at some pellets today. We're going to go to our LFS to get some brine shrimp and see if they like that.

We got some more live rock and we also got some brine shrimp and they ate that no problem. I will post up some photos later. We also added a Six Line Wrasse and he ate the brine too.

Hopefully you are buying enriched brine? Plain brine isn't very nutritious. Bring on the pictures.

It isn't enriched, we just got it to see if they would eat it.

Here is a pic of the tank and another pic of one of the clowns, man these guys are super fast and crazy.

here is our other 29g tank from a couple days ago. the only difference is the frogspawn is almost half the size since my boyfriend fragged it and put a piece in the clown tank.

well everyone is fine and the clowns seem to be bonding well! the past two nights they found a corner to "sleep" in and they swim together slowly in sync. :) i am very happy to know that they are warming up to each other. :)
