I.D. Help

I noticed white round specks on the side of the aquarium glass (they almost looked like the sputnik satellite).

They are round and have a lot of legs. They are about the size of ballpoint pen.

Any help would be appreciated.

Pineapple sponges came to mind. Might be way off though.

They could also be hydroids of some sort. Need picture... You could do a search on Scypha sponges and hydroid jellyfish, too.

I did a search and it appears to match the staurocladia hydro.

Are these bad and will it harm anything.

They won't hurt much of anything. I'd just ignore them, personally.

i just noticed the hydroid jellyfish in my tank right after i put more live rock in my tank. im still cycling my tank so i have nothing to eat them. will they hurt my tank?

No worries at all.

They disappeared from my tank after a week.
