Are these safe or not?? they seem to open up at night more so then the day time. There are quite a few of them however they are not a bother at all. TIA

look up strawberry anemone or Corynactis californica and see if that is a match.

It wouldn't be Corynactis californica, unless it was introduced from rock on the pacific coast (and her tank was a coldwater tank). Most likely one of the Pseudocorynactis species. These little guys are actually "mushroom" polyps/anemones.
