yep those are button polyps. they are a type of zoanthid. they will spread just like any zoa. but nothing to worry about, just a free coral.

Button Polyps fo shizzle. Most people pay money for them so consider yourself lucky.

I'd put another more colorful polyp that you like more (like some sort of cool lookin zoa) close to them soon though..I'd rather have some sort of zoa taking over my rock instead of a button polyp. The buttons look pretty cool when they fluoresce though...there's just more colorful things out there, and these guys grow quick In my tank, i got clove polyps, some zoa, and buttons all right next to eachother. The buttons arent growing anymore since they're surrounded by zoas/cloves.
