I.D this coral

This doesn't happen too often, but I've come across a coral I have no clue what it is called.
I mean I usually know what category it falls into or something. Anyone have any clue.
It feels hard, so I'm assuming it's not a leather.
it reminds me off a christmas tree rock.
I just got this coral. I normally don't get corals without research but since the person I got it from didn't know either and I only paid $10 I kind of gave in....
I only know what it's not haha

Also incase anyone is thinking the devils hand and brain behind this are in the rough shape they are... I fragged the devils hand because it was huge and it's finally getting back to normal. I also rescued that brain before someone wrecked it beyond what it is.

Hard to tell from the picture, but could it be Heliopora? That's what it looks like to me. A better picture would help a lot, but I'm sure you know that.

I'm going to go with the heliopora for now. looks enough like all the pics i just looked at. I have green digita and purple. It's not those. the picture is poop, I know. I didn't hold it steady enough, and it is my camera phone.

It is Heliopora, the blue ridge coral. It grows in strange shapes like that in captivity.

If it is Heliopora, it is easy enough to ID - it has a blue skeleton and soft tissue on its exterior.

I might be going against the grain here but what about a Montipora Cylindrica?Looks a lot like one.

I've never been stung by my large heliopora. The frogspawn on the other hand....

I believe this is heliopora, but this thing actually didn't sting me when I touched it to put it in the tank.

we figured it out locally. it's blue ridge coral. As many of you said, and know. it's heliopora.

it looks a lot like psammacora too. there is a pic in the wild i saw that was just like that, only 40-50 pillars with white caps.
