I completed my open water certification today! Iam really excited and can't wait to go on my trip to the Bahamas. Iam going to do the stuarts cove shark dive. Has anyone dove with them?

Congratulations! I've dove the Bahamas, but not that particular dive. Im not a big fan of shark feeding dives. That said, several members have posted on the Stuarts Cove shark dive. Where did you do your training?

I went with scuba network for my school and did my open water at Dutch springs in Bethlehem pa. For my open water. I did 4 four dives with the school there.

Nice. Going from fresh water to ocean water is always nice. Don't forget to give us a trip report when you come back.

Dutch is a good place for training. However, keep in mind diving in the ocean will have a few important differences. Namely current, waves (can make climbing up the side of a boat interesting in dive gear), and of course SW is considerably more buoyant. When you get to the Bahamas, do a buoyancy check to get your weighting right before you get on the dive boat if possible...worth making the time for this, instead of off the back of the boat when the clock is ticking. When it comes time to get back on the boat, I highly recommend keeping the regulator in your mouth while climbing the ladder, just in case a wave comes along and knocks you off ;) Also be sure and don't hang under the ladder while someone else is climbing, just in case they fall off ;) Naturally, be sure and enjoy the nice clear Bahama water :) Unlike in Dutch Springs, you won't find any thermoclines to drop below and get chilled :D

well i got back from the bahamas last night and thought i share a few photos of my dive with stuarts cove dive shop.
