Pazazz,
I'm not sure if you know, but this tank was barebottom since the move last April. I did have a sandbed in the tank at the other house. When I moved I threw the old one out. I never recycle sandbeds. Too risky with all the nutrients.
The funny part is I lost almost my entire livestock in the move, so it would'nt have made too much of a difference anyway.
Mooch,
Not really. I don't think there was really any significant fluctuation, but I haven't tested my water with my Saliferts. I used the old eyeball test.
All (except one) of my corals actually look better now. It's my large Green Palythoas that are slightly curled around the skirts, but they're bouncing back.
I didn't wash it. I have had a lot of sand beds in the past and my experience has shown that even a good rinsing doesn't make much of a difference. So, I don't bother anymore.
I have to get some Mysis Shrimp, they flourish with a sand bed.
Anyone have some?
Thanks for the compliments, I am so stoked about having the sandbed.
I even got my Surge maker to work properly in my frag tank.
Who's got it better then me?
Cheers
