I don't want a gold stripe

The male in my pair of maroon clowns is starting to turn gold. I was hoping it was going to be a true White Striped Clown. His been in the tank for about 6 months now. I knew the golds start off white but thought he would have changed sooner.

I knew getting so lucky on pairing them up would have a catch.

I poured in half a bottle of bleach before I left this morning, I'm hoping that will clear it up.
