I have a dilema,a few weeks ago i fragged 4 branches off a millie colony, all frags are doing great in 4diff systems, yesterday i fragged 2more frags and 2 mini colonies 3-4inches.And now the frags are fine, but the mini colonies show RTN.What should i do?

I sold 1frag and 1colony last night and today i came home and saw mine wasn't ok,so i PM'd the guy and asked if his was ok,he said frag is fine but colony not ok,so i offered a refund.

Anyone else experience this before?did i over frag the colony?did i frag it wrong?I dipped everything in coral revive then coral rx afer fragging.Thoughts?

Everytime RTN has happened in my system my Alk has been coincidently low. The only way I've ever gotten ahead of RTN is to frag into healthy tissue and dip in lugols.
Good luck.

Maybe they got over stressed from dipping them in two dips. Why would you dip in revive and coral RX when they do the same thing?

I dont actually see the need to dip in anything after fragging, especially not a double whammy

regardless of the fact that most stuff can handle it, it is no doubt stressful nd unless you have a specific reason you are dipping for not a necessary or helpful habit

sorry to hear of your woes. As you already know Im sure.....if necessary and the recession is continuing start whacking them up, seal all open wounds in a thin layer of glue and save what you can

you have bugs or something you were trying to kill off the frags before you sold them? Like everyone said there should be no reason to dip something you frag from your system.
