I decided to overcome my fear of strobes... went out this morning and bought a little studio light kit- Hensel Integra (two 500w mono lights). Had to test them out right away... I know reading the manual would probably help but I couldn't wait
The only thing I did to these shots in Photoshop was remove dust specs and sharpen- no color adjustments at all even though it looks like I saturated the colors- I didn't... honest!

All three of those shots were at 1/125th and f25 or thereabouts- I put the stobes real close and pounded the light in there just to see if I could make it work. I think I'm really going to love these lights.

Very nice Greg! Thanks so much for sharing these shots, you know I'm interested in the results, so far very nice! I've been working on my lighting as much as time and money permits, the tips with the brackets we talked about were very helpful and a good idea, thanks again!

Now Greg, this is when RAW would be cool. The WB is a little on the yellow side, as those are probably 6700K strobes, I'd assume. Plop this into Photoshop, bring in a little WB correction on the RAW image, and Blammo!

It sure would be nice to always have that amount of light. Nice!

Thanks again guys. Glad to hear the bracket set-up is working for you Matt. With these strobes I've got some learning to do... luckily my camera is digital and learning won't cost me any extra :p

Very nice job Greg, can't wait to see what you get after you play with them a bit. It's is amazing what you can accomplish when you can command the light. A filter kit for it can be fun too ... Looking forward to enjoying the fruits of your labor :D
