it's awesome, i will add a picture later. i was trying to find a place to put it, i was told moderate light and flow. well, my tank has pretty good flow everywhere! so, i put it in several places trying to find the most proper place for it, the frill of it moves a bit. will it migrate on its own and find a home for itself? any advise? thanks.

Well, it won't move like a anemone if that's what you mean. As far as lighting, It really depends on what type of mushroom you have. Try keeping it low in the tank at first. If you see it start to reach up then you can slowly start moving it up. Congrats.

The amount of light depends what type of ricordea it is. Ric floridas like stronger light than yumas in general. Do you know what type it is? Or do you need it identified?

they said it was cultered, and it was a ricordia. that's all i know, later tonight i will take a pic of it to be identified. thanks

That is a beautiful specimin of Ricordea yuma. If you have strong lighting (MH) I'd keep it low in the tank and somewhat in the shade and let it slowly acclimate to your lighting. Over time you can slowly move it somewhere brighter, as long as it keeps opening up fully and appears happy.

i have a bio cube 29 gal. two 36 watts lighting, so i don't have strong lighting. i was told i am only limited to hard corals and anemones. so some stress signs would be similar to a mushroom? closing up or folding up/ looking for more light? right now i have it hidden behind this small rock out of direct flow. if it looks like this should i conclude that it is happy?

It's not fully extended as it could be, but it looks reasonably happy to me. If it were stressed it wouldnt be extended much at all.

I have 3 doing well under PC (8.4wt/gl) and moderate flow. Just watch and move it if it looks like it is detatching from its rock. Your lighting should be fine. Under that lighting you should keep it in the light toward the bottom and if it is responding well, move it further up.
