I got me some ICH

My Royal Gramma has developed ICH.

I have added no fish in a month, and that fish was in QT for 4 weeks, all fine.

I am going to set up a Hospital tank tonight, and attempt to get the gramma in it.

Do I have to pull all the fish out and treat them all?

What about my cleaner shrimp?

If I pull them out, is the reef off limits for 6 weeks?

Sounds like tonightwill be fun... I thinkI need to pull all the fish.

I have a Royal Gramma, a Maroon Clown and a Blue Eye Anthis. Can they all be treated the same? I am thinking Hyposalinity and Rid Ich. What do you think?

The shrimp and other inverts can't tolerate the low salinity, they should be safe to stay in the display.

how did it get the ich. you said you qt. the royal for 4 weeks? did you hypo in the qt. tank?

If you can't get them out of your reef keep the temp very stable and perhaps raise the temp a little. From my experience if the tank temp varies 4 degrees in 24 hours the stress will allow my tangs to get ICH again. Treat with garlic which will increase the appetite and has healing properties and also helps the fish give off slim which will allow them to shed the parasites. Soak their food in garlic extract. Cleaner shrimp will pick the parasites off your fish so will neon gobies. Having tangs which are very prone to geting ICH, I would never have a tank with out cleaner shrimp, cleaner gobies and stable water temps. Make sure your water parameters are where they should be. I have not had ICH in a year and a half since getting rid of it with the previous methods. Good luck!
