There just nothing to update. They obviously gone into hiding since the story was on every local TV station in town for almost a week. As long as they don't show up at my store, I say good ridance to that filth; not like I expected to ever get my stuff back. Atleast the kids will get a break from being forced to steal for a while. And they can't ever show up at any LFS in town again because all the LFS owners know who they are.

Hey but then again he's probably hoping the kids will get caught not him and he can just say little billy/suzie why did you take that. Probably have a speech memorized just for that occasion of what the kids need to say to the authorities. BTW I am sorry for your $$ losses too. Hope you catch him. One other thing to try if you haven't already offer a reward and post those surveillence pictures all over your store that way if anyone is contacted by someone selling cheap supplies they might recognize him.

Ya and if you do catch him if the Auth dont take care of him you can send him down here in TN we have a couple of nice rivers with catfish that will chew his fingers off cutting off just dosent have the same deturant

In the place i I lived in before I moved back to atlanta, the local LFS's had a Guy stealing Acropora and going into the stores with Duct tape on his body so he could adhear things . He was even caught twice in the same store... another fello reeefer in the area hadd gone to his house to buy some stuff and said the dude had like a store's worth of inventory there and a " chemical room" .. Im almost 100% the dude was cooking meth.... UGH,, I hate rogues!

Getting ripped off sucks. I guess another challenge to retail these days. I think we actually had more to worry about from our employees than our customers at the store I worked for.....one guy is now doing 15-20 for gta (not related to his employment at the store though obviously).
Ummm btw, how did he manage to steal acropora from tanks? Not that I am looking for tips but come on, what did he just put them under his coat and walk out? You would think the smell would give him away.
LFS owner tip: always look for wet pockets and people smelling of coral!!!!

Here's an update for those who have been following this thread.
I got a call from Mark Sherman (from Sherman Tanks) and he told me he has been dealing with this family for about 5 years. He's banned them from the store but the father stills send the son in to "shop". I guess they figure Mark is too soft to nail a little kid for stealing. Mark did say the kid stole an adult Emperor Angel that was bagged up on the counter while no one was looking. I bet his nutless father must have been proud.
Also, I've been told by several customers that these POS's have been seen doing the same thing over at the Petco on 88th in Westminster. Of course, by the time the witnesses find an employee, they are long gone. At this point, I have sent a copy of this thread to every LFS in Colorado so they are running out of good places to shoplift. By the end of this week, every Petco/Petsmart/Walmart/Kmart in the front range will have their pictures posted too.
And on that note, I did get a call from an angry drunken claming to be a family "cousin" to the effect of "you better quit posting 'cuz we dangerous bro'". Well, I guess this will make you even more angry (or drunk I guess). I just got confirmation that the video surveillance footage of this family will be aired on next season's Spike TV's "World's Wildest Police Videos".

With all the publicity, seems that Chris (the gutless lowlife that uses his kids to steal and rewards himself with expensive fish with the money earned through his kid's crimes) is too scared to show his face in any store now. Instead, he now calls ahead to check who is working the store that day and then sends the kids with the grandmother to steal if the employee is an easy mark (like I was apparently). So, this is the gramma:

Sounds like he is on RC and has seen your post. I hope you can get him. It makes all of us angry that jerks like this makes the cost of items go up. It is understandable that the store has to recupe the loss, just unfortunate at our expense. I hope you get this idiot and get alot in civil reimbursment. Next time you see his kids enter detain them and call the police. Well, wait until the are about to leave. Let the kids tell who daddy is and with your shots and video he is sunk. Too bad for the kids, they will do anything to make the family happy even if they know better.

I don't know if this lowlife has been here to RC, but he has probably seen the flyers that are posted in every LFS in Denver.
I agree that if seen in any LFS, they should be detained or stalled in some way that they be there when the police arrive.
