i got some anemone problems

well i woke up and my constantly growing anemone has gotten bigger, go figure. i had to move some coral. the poloporia (sp?) was stinging him and he was stinging my chile pepper frag. i added my first clown yesterday an alladri which i found at a LFS in another town. she got it by accident and i was all over it. they are my favorite clowns. anyway she is very comfortable in the anemone.

the story is i went to a guys place that has a 300 gal. he had a 1/3 of his tank filled with these giant red long tentacle anemones. he offered me one for 20$ i took him up on it. i have always wanted one. well we didnt want to hurt the anemone trying to get it off the rock. so he grab another rock which was small but had an anemone about to split into 3 and it was much bigger. i told him i would give him more for it and the rock. so i got a great deal. his anemones are splitting like crazy and doing really well. this anemone in my tank immediately moved off that rock and settled in where it is now. and has been getting bigger and bigger. he doesnt move, but is getting huge, what can I do? how can i encourage him to split?

also can anyone identify what kind it is? i have him under a razor 16k 120w with 100% reach for about 4 hours a day.

Rose anemone (E. quadricolor).

How often are you feeding it; if any?

I would also cover that vortech with the foam cover to prevent any accidents with the anemone. I also see another uncovered intake (fluval?) near the anemone which would make me nervous.

Yes it is a BTA. I have one very similiar to yours that got about that size before it recently split about two days ago. Mine has a dark green base with bright pink tentacles. It is under a Reefbreeders Photon that is at 100% about five hours a day and seems to really thrive under the leds. No advice on how to encourage the split though. I wasn't doing anything different when mine decided to split.

i know i had the cover on the vortech i took it off to take some pics looks bad. and how do i cover the intake? there is so much flow i was thinking it wouldnt get near it. no feeding
