I have a sick clown :(

Hey I'm new and really just registered because I have found myself way over my head!

anyway got a clown yesterday and he is not looking too good. it stays toward the surface and is swimming kind of off to one side like. anyway, I have no idea what the problem is

my parameters are

ammonia 0ppm
nitrites 0ppm
nitrates about 5ppm (hard to tell exactly)
ph 8.3
salinity 1.022

is this normal? and if it's not, what's wrong and how do i fix the problem?

Congratz on the new guy, he looks ok to me, he is just scared to go explore the tank yet. IMO turn off or down the lights and give him a few days without startling him or whatever to much.

One of my clowns sleeps exactly like that on his side at the surface everynight. wedged up between the glass and a return tube. It freaked me out at first.

they are wierd lil fish..
