As some of you know i am moving in two weeks and upgrading from my 90 gallon tank to a 125. Currently i have a bit over 100 lbs of rock and its all stacked to create a wall. I want to avoid having to buy anymore rock and i think the new aquascape will be two walls coming down from the sides and a bit of empy space in the middle. (new tank is 6' ... old was 4')

So i was thinking that instead of using up rock as support and having possible dead space, i would build supports out of eggcrate and PVC legs to give me the height. These wont be two thick because i still want rock in the front of the wall.

Do you guys think that i might see the eggcrate and pvc? i was thinking of spaying it with that black pond foam, at least the pvc supports and the front of the eggcrate to minimize the white????

Another option would be just to get black PVC and eggcrate, but have no idea of where to get it. anyone know anyplace local?

any suggestions?

thanks!

Depending on the size of 100#, you may decide that is enough. I have been trwending towards reducing the amount of rock to create better flow, etc...

Yeah thats why i am planning on the PVC platform so flow can pretty much get anywhere and to give the fish a nice amount of shelter.

I found some gray PVC pipe at HD but no fittings... i might just have to go with the gray and white fittings. i think i am most likely not doing the foam
