I just lost this beauty!

This plana has been growing extremely well for almost 4 months now and overnight, I lost 80% of it. I fragged off all that I could, but I fear that that frags are going to die off as well.
I have no clue what happened to it. It literally went overnight. I also lost my favorite pink clathrata frag/small colony. It has been growing well for about 6 months and it too died overnight.
All of my other SPS appear to be fine. No changes in water chemistry or parameters.
Very frustrating. Seriously makes me reconsider going back to a softy/mixed reef!!!

Don't loose heart. It happens to all of us from time to time. Sometimes we figure out what it was and sometimes we don't.

Yea it happens. One day it's there the next gone. It happens fast. The quick knee jerk reaction is usually,
Everything is Stable, I changed nothing" then I sit back and really think about it. I'm always changeing something. I dont have a Ca Reactor, I dose two part. I try to keep it stable, especially Alk, I dose it now with a dosing pump. 80ml per day. Alk fluctuations are usually the only thing I can blame.
I'm almost scared to do a water change now, knowing how much my alk will move. I run 8.0 dkh, my Instant Ocean water is over 11 dkh. I'm moving to small water changes.
