I love morays and I'd like to have one, but I'm not sure which one.
Could all people with moray-experience please share some with me?
If you own or owned a moray, please tell me what kind it is, what size it is, what size tank it is in, what its tankmates are, etc.
If you have pictures it'd be great.

Thanks alot!

Hey man well I have a golden dwarf moray and they only get 12 in I did have a zebra moray 3rd both were in a 70. 70 would be minimum for the zebra and 20 for the dwarf it took me 4 months to get the golden hope this help this is such a good they both can be kept with pretty small fish also look into snowflakes need50 gallons and a little bit bigger tank mates have Fu but what ever you do don't get a ribbon eel

70 as a minimum for a Zebra? I couldn't imagine that. I'd say they need a much bigger tank than that.

Ive had a few different ones over the years in my 75g. First was a barred moray, didnt like it, boring and ugly. Second was a 2 ft long zebra, I would say defiantly needs bigger tank. He was scary aggressive! like hed have half his body out of the water if he thought he was getting fed. his strength was insane, you could hold on for dear life and hed rip that stick out of your hand like nothing. Now I have a 18" snowflake, and love it. The coloring is great, he's entertaing as far as an eel goes, and he's not overly aggressive. By far my favorite!

Thanks people, got some names to look up now!
Can different types of morays be kept together?

I have a 220G btw, Should be enough for a zebra I think, right?

And what about those fat ones such as the green moray and whitemouth moray or whatever it was called?

Avoid the green moray, size and aggression make it a very poor choice except for the largest of systems.

Zebra and G. meleagris (whitemouth) would be fine in a 220

i have a 17 inch indian mud moray and he is in a temporary 85 gallon with a coral grouper and three large archers i converted to salt he is fine and eats like a pig he eats whole silversides and so far he has no interest in attacking his tank mates.

Ahhh Morays.. I do love them.. Ill say im limited in keeping them in tanks, but I do love diving with them, and white mouths in the wild get pretty damn big:

But as any fish you keep, be generous with the amount of space you think they need, and you will do well with them. I have a snowflake and I got it mostly for the coloring, I love the way snowflakes look, I have a darker colored one, my lfs has another that has more white then dark on it, and it looks fantastic too!
