i just super glued my yellow tangs mouth shut

and im not sure what to do

I was trying to get a super glue container to work right, and spewed some super glue into the tank. Apparently the yellow tang went for it =(

Oh no!!!

Not sure what you can do. That stuff sticks like crazy to skin, and possibly also to scales/fish skin. Maybe he'll slime enough to kick it out. Is he able to get water through his mouth to his gills (are the gills opening and closing)?

Maybe the only thing to do if he can't really breathe is to wait for him to get sluggish and then grab him and try to pry out the glue. It should harden and you may be able to pop it out.

Wow Chuck, that sucks. Not sure if there is anything you can do, except watch him. if he is still able to take in water to expess out his gills, then hopefully he can still eat some. Since it is living tissue I would expect it to eventually come off, but the time frame I don't know. Good Luck

crap. his gills are moving pretty quickly, I guess he's breathing. He's definitely flipping out.

Part of the string of glue came off, still some in his mouth. I've got the trap in the tank, but its not doing much good.

What a stupid situation.

I managed to trap him and remove what I think is 99% of the glue. I think he can at least open and close his mouth now.

Also, Im pretty sure super gluing your fishes mouth shut puts you in the n00b category, so I expect so darn good frags at the next meeting for this stunt.
