i just super glued my yellow tangs mouth shut

We had a peppermint shrimp eat the glue off of newly glued frags and get its pinchers stuck together. Took a couple of days, but eventually worked the glue off. Definitely was freaking out and chewing on his arms for hours immediately following the event. I started making sure I fed the tank before gluing.

 That poor shrimp.

Chuck, I think you should suggest this for the ReefKeeping magazine monthly top ten. "Top ten reasons to be careful while gluing frags".

:D

Could that super-glue trick be used to make a lionfish reef-safe?

Sure it would. Use a generous amount on the fins, and stick in the corner until it's cured.

Maybe 911 could have helped out! lol That would be hard to explain to the 911 operator. I superglued my fishes mouth shut and he can't breath. I am glad everything worked out.

OMGOSH ... I'm in a meeting right now and can't stop laughing!

Glad the tang is OK. That way I don't feel guilty laughing ;) I've dropped glue in the tank and started swatting it away to try to keep the fish from getting it...I always wondered what might have happened if they ate it (I never dreamed the lips would get stuck though!)
