I couldn't resist ... the bubble was just way too cool ... :)

The bubble is from algae growing on the tip of my montipora. I really screwed up my last water change. I get natural seawater delivered, it was late in the day, in sunny South Florida and the water was rather warm, did a 30-40% change, raised that tanks temp 4 degrees F, salinity was also raised by .03. Long story, shortned killed a bunch of really nice stuff, then montipora will survive, but I keep 'blowing' algae off its tips, I thought it was a cool pic.

Are you saying that raising the temp by four degrees and the salinity by .03 killed off alot of your tank? thats unheard of. definetly not the water thats killing your tank.

I believe the instant boost in temp and salinity didn't do any favors.

Pretty cool. Have you tried to zoom in on the bubble with an editing program to see exactly what the reflection is?

As a matter of fact I did ... It's a convex (reverse fisheye) reflection of the photographer ... me!

Wow ... hadn't noticed until I looked at the shot above again, you wouldn't believe how fast that coral is growing, in the 6 weeks since that pic was taken that single branch has split into a fork of four, little over 1/4" of growth
