I know this is an idiot question...

but of course I'm asking it anyway. Anyone ever keep an annularis angel in a reef? What were the results?

While I have not had an annularis in a reef, we have a blue face and had an emperor which are from the same Pomacanthus family - all are which are considered "reef safe with caution". We planned the tank with this I mind (in addition to the blue face we also have regal and gold flake angels as well as a Moorish idol) so we have an SPS dominant reef with couple of euphylia and leathers. We have had no issues with any of these corals but we did have a couple of zoa colonies that did not fare well. Overall, well worth the limitation on corals to keep these fish. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply. I had an anularis back in the mid 90's and it was my favorite fish. I only had a few LPS corals and mushrooms at the time and it never bothered them. Now, I have some zoas and SPS as well as a crocea clam. I wont be getting any other fish till I upgrade from my 120 to a 180 next year and figured I'd ask to see if anyone had actual experience with this fish in a full blown reef setting to better judge if there's a chance of me considering another one.
