Hi, I am new to the Saltwater Aquarium world and have a two month old reef tank. Right now I only have two clowns and a few cleaner crabs and snails. My tank has had a rough start, I added my clowns after the first cycle completed and the next day my aquarium crashed. Luckily my fish survived and now I am dealing with a brown algae outbreak. That is not the problem. The symptoms started last night. I noticed my clowns, both, were twitching. Very similar to a seizure. I though it was the whole mating thing, so I left it. As of this morning my suspicions changed, now one of my clowns, whom I believe to be the male was opening his mouth wide and gasping for air, as well as occasionally moving to the top of the tank and gasping. They are both periodically seizing and look distressed. The female is swimming sporadically and darting from place to place occasionally. The female has prominent gills where as before she did not, they also seem darker in color. The male also seems to have a white fuzz on his inner lips. It didn't strike me as ich. I checked ammonia and nitrite, 0 and 0, my gravity is 1.023. The first thing I noticed today was the pale look of my clowns, their eyes aren't cloudy that I have noticed. But they seem to be a little pale. If anyone has any idea as to what is wrong please let me know.
