I need help!

Hey, Im very new to the salt water tank care. I recently just got my first fish three days ago, 1 box fish, 2 reef chromis, a star fish, and 2 occelaris clownfish. The problem is my 2 clownfish seem to be very ill. I have done alot of research and they seem to have the clownfish disease ( Brooklynella). It appears that they have swam through spiderwebs a think layer of white mucus. They also have rapid breathing, and keep to the very top of the water. I did not set up a quarantine tank yet, and I would like some help on how to do one as quickly as possible, and the possible treatments. I dont want it to infect all my fish. I will also have a picture of the fish shortly for further advice to see if it is really brooklynella. I need help!

I just recently started, I have 3 live rocks, and my water salinity is at 1.025, I also tested my water and everything is good. Temperature is 78. MY other fish seem fine, they all eat and everything, but my clownfish haven't eaten since I got them.

Well, the tank has been through its cycle for about a month, I had PH problems, so I had to wait abit, then I added live rocks, waited for 2 weeks, then added fish. So alitle over a month, and the fish have been in the tank for 3 days. Also, the pet store I got my fish from, He tested my water and everything was good, and Im guessing amnomia was checked with it.

But you just added 5 fish to the system. Now you have a ammonia spike. You took all that time to cycle the tank, now is not the time to be rushing. You should buy a fish every couple weeks to let your bacteria build up.

Yes I know your suppose to add only 2 fish at a time, the guy that sold me the fish said they would be fine though. And its a type of boxfish, Long horned boxfish or something, I'm not shure.

Just let the tank do it's thing... Your fish might pull through. Just keep an eye on your salinity level, nitrites etc...

the guy that sold me the fish said they would be fine though.

Well im not trying to sell you anything. I hope everything works out and its not an expensive mistake.

Do you know that the Box fish is venomous? And has the possibility of nuking your tank if it gets to stressed out?

The slime is a defense from stress and the rapid breathing could be from low oxygen. Oxygen is brought in from the surface and needs good high water movement from powerheads and no lid for best air flow.

Whats used for water flow?
Do you have a lid on the tank?

I do know that now, the store that I got him from, didnt inform me well. He said they are one of the best fish to have, and are easy to care for. He seems to be doing the best in the tank though, and is eating like a pig. Although I can't identify what kind of boxfish he is, he might even be a cowfish, Im trying to find more research on him, but he looks weird. I'm hoping to get a larger aquarium in the future, and using the 20 gallon as a quarantine tank. Yeah I'm also going to buy myself my own test kit.

One fish a month, be patient grasshopper.

Now that my tank is 6 months old, and much larger than yours, I have added 3 small fish at a time, and they are still doing well.

Your water breaths like you breath. Brings in oxygen or DS dissolved oxygen from the surface and removes unwanted gases and with a lid you highly reduce this gas exchange.

I know, what happened was, the pet shop that gave me the fish, I work at the pet store, but anyways, I wanted only 2 chromis, and I told my mom to pick them up, and she brought all those fish home. The pet store owner said they would be fine. Will the fish die because of the huge ammonia boost? Is there anything I can add to the water, or do I just wait it out?
