I need some advice on a deep cut

I looked into my tank today and my diamond goby has a cut 1-1/2" long at least an 1/8" deep down his side. It is wide open at least 3/16" wide. He is acting normal. Any advice on what to do with him? Not sure I could catch him. Must have cut himself on a rock.
Thanks.

Here is a picture. If you look down his side you can see the white opening.

Is that an Achilles above him in the last pic? If so, the injury could be a scalpel wound from the tang. A laceration from a rock should appear more irregular and ragged. My suggestion would be to try to catch him and then QT with Myracin I and II to treat for both gram positive and gram negative infections. If you can't catch him, there are few other options than to just keep an eye on him and hope he recovers. If he does not do well, he may slow down enough to be caught, but this is obviously a sub-optimal plan for treating him. Keep us informed.

Naso Tang above him but I have 5 other tangs in there. He is acting normal and eating. He is so fast it may be tough.I have him in a 240 gallon tank with alot of rock. I will try to get him tomorrow. Thanks for the advice. My QT tank has a new yellow tang in it, I may have to take him back to the store to treat this guy if I can get him.

Really glad to hear that. I have had my PBT go after my Rabbitfish with clear intent on using his scalpel as a weapon. The Rabbitfish responds by raising his venomous dorsal spines! Its quite a show and fortunately uncommon.
