i need sponge advice

hey guys,

I bought a spider sponge from FAOIS about a month ago, it doesnt seem to polyp out very often and now the sponge is starting to die. I keep it out of the open and in light to moderate flow (compared to where i have the gorgonian)

Any tips? i'm feeding the tank with phyto feast. I think one problem is that the tank gets low and bubbles get blasted in to the display... maybe i need an ATO :/

deff need a ato, or be johnny on the spot with manual top off. as your tank evaps water your salinity increases. this may be causing undesirable change therefore upsetting the sponge. i woul also try directly feeding, this way you know its getting food.

I have mine in high flow and it loves it. Also the bubbles may upset it.

true true... Anyone have some schematics of ATO's? or could recommend a cheap solution for one?

I use the Sump model from autotopoff.com It has worked well in my setup
