I need to buy a skimmer...

Mine is too old and too small for my 240. Also, the venturi seemd to be clogged as it just wasn't skimming well so I "fixed it". Now it squirts water straight up out of the venturi, fine job huh? Since I need to upgrade it anyway, what do you suggest and does anybody have a used one? I have the room for in the sump or external so I'm pretty flexible there too. Thanks.

I have a Tunze 9020 with all the standard goodies and 2 magnet holders if you're interested. Used about 6 months. . .$250.00.

LMK. . .

:D

Yeah, I've heard good things about the DAS and I can't speak highly enough about my ATI.
Do you have pics of your skimmer running? I am wanting to upgrade and was looking at the ATI skimmers. By the way, did you get a discount on yours?

no discount. unless you consider $10 shiping a discount. I bought it from KM Associantes Intl. out of cali.

i'll get a pic in a little bit.

My skimmate has never been this stinky. I cleaned it last week and it was about 3/4 full. It was probably the first time I almost threw up cleaning a skimmer.

does anyone have any experience with these das skimmers. I am most likely going to have to upgrade when I get my 150 up and running. skimming with my g3 will be pushing it. I like the octopus skimmers too. I am on a limited budget I can not afford a 700 dollar skimmer and I do not want to buy one that is under sized.

I've been reading a lot about them. The only problem with the DAS is getting one that isn't damaged in shipping. Once you have it, they work great. I think they are using thinner acrylic and that is why there are so many damaged in shipping. I guess you get what you pay for?
