My clowns are repeatedly laying eggs on a flat side of a rock but it is at an angle. To be able to remove the eggs I tried to place a flat tile over where they lay. The angle causes the tile to fall off as soon as the fish swim by it. Does anyone have an idea of a putty or some other way to temporarily stick a tile over the laying spot so I can remove the eggs to raise them?

How about some rough velcro applied to the bottom of the tile? The texture might keep it from falling out of place.

Or, as you mentioned, you could just use some putty.

I was going to say velcro. Can you take some pics, I want some ideas so when I start breeding clownfish.

Well when I set up my clown tank I planed on using a fake anemone until I was confident that I could handle a real one. There are some I have seen that look pseudo real, I know nothing can approach the real thing but until I get some real lighting and experience I will make do with the fakes. This also means I can set up some sort of removable spawning platform, which ofcoarse means I will do all this work and they will spawn somewhere else.

How about a corner shaped piece of tile? If there is an edge on the rock you can just hang it there and pick it up later. L shapped basically. Or bullnose, whatever you can find. Will that work?

Why not let them hatch in the tank and then remove them? Seems to be the consensus as the easiest way in the clown & anemone forum.
Can't find the thread, but there is a "trap" using an LED used to collect the clowns the night they hatch. I've also read of people using a flashlight (to attract the clowns) and a net to scoop them into the growout tank. Not as succesful, but still works. Spend some time in the clown/anemone forum.

The last time the eggs hatched I tried to attract them with a light and I couldn't see a thing. I have a lot of water movement in the tank and there would be no way they could swim or wiggle to a light. I suspect they are eaten as fast as they are hatched
