I plumbed my first tank last night...and learned my first lesson..

Its been in the works for a while, did some creative designing of the system and been doing testing. Finally had the time and put it all on. but while working on it I came up with the idea of needing holes drilled to break the siphone.....the hard way. Think I only lost about half a gallon or less. Was tinkering and turned off the system to cut a few new pieces, came back a while later trying to figure out WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON.....yeah, duh. Anyway, the design was based on what I had, it was a dual 1/2 inch bulkheads on both sides of a 20 high I got from skinnyjoe. I used those for dual overflows made out of pvc and then used 2 returns made out of pvc finished out in line loc to the front of the tank. Its by no way finished, but at least I have proof of concept as jamie and adam say on mythbusters. Some of this design maybe interesting to those that need to overcome stuff like how to get water back in the tank without drilling. The returns are effectivly hang on units.

Instead of needing to drill siphon breaks, if you put your lineloc nozzle near the surface, then as soon as the top aspect of it gets air it will break the siphon.....hence, nothing extra that can get clogged or covered.
