well, recently my soon to be(phasing in) sps tank started getting algae... so im wondering why... i had a good cleanup crew, great skimmer, low bioload... then it hit me... why did i have 150 hermits and now i only have 3. i had been hearing some clicking noises at night so... i put two and two togeather... got four, then thought some more and said, i have a damn mantis. a month or so ago i noticed redbugs... so here is what i have... i have a mantis i need to kill, redbugs i need to kill and onlly two hermits i have to toss in another tank if i treat... if i treat with interceptor, will it kill both my skunk shrimp and the mantis... if so ill take the skunk out.

I was hunting a gorilla crab for months with a flashlight and skewer. When I treated for RB, finally no more bad crab. It was an added bonus. I would take your skunk out though.

yes.... GREAT... now i dont have to tear apart the tank... only need to get all those stupid baby kenya trees, whats left of xenia and mushrooms out and then my tank is A-OK

now, i have two turbos, the shrimp, three sand sifting stars, three conchs, and the two hermits in my tank... should i take them out too???

i dont really care, but will this kill the pods too???

from what i have heard and read the shrimp, stars and hermits will all need to come out. i just put interceptor in my tank an hour ago and i hope that the nasty crab i cant catch is now a dead one. every time i figured out his hiding spot he'd move to a new one on the other side of the tank. two birds (well a crab and RBs) one stone.

i treated for red bugs awile back and could not remove my cleaner shrimp, pepperment shrimp, and a handfull hermits. they all survived minus 2 hermits.

When I treated last year for red bugs with interceptor I had not heard starfish were susceptible to it. My two serpant stars went through the treatment just fine. Thankfully, they have been with me for 7 years now and I would have been really bummed if they had perished as my research at the time brought up no mention of starfish issues with interceptor. I definately think the mantis would take a hit, especially if you do the three treatment method over three weeks. I had a mantis in my old tank. I found him months later on top of the rock pile months in the rock bin in the garage after tearing down the old tank. I think the sucker may have lived for a while in the rock in the bin. Crazy.

well, i just checked my tank this morning and it appears the mini brittle star living on my teal stag is still alive, not sure where i picked up that they were harmed by interceptor. kinda wish i hadnt tore my whole tank apart getting my brittle stars and cleaner shrimp out too. better safe than sorry.

i killed the mantis i found in my tank that ate my 3 dispar anthias a couple of years ago with a shotgun.....i put him in a container and lit his *** the F#$% up son of b#$#$#

i hate mantis shrimp

hmmm... i guess i will start out with a normal treatment, about 5 days later, do a little heavier treatment, and 10 days from then do an even heavier(but not by a ton) treatment... i guess i'll let everyone know how it goes and if mr mantis is still alive...
