I think I've seen a ghost - engineer goby

I bought two juv engineers about 3 months ago. They seemed pretty healthy in the tank and everything, but they were so skittish that they never came out to eat.

About a month in, they both just disappeared. After a month or so with no sign of them, I had given them up for dead....until tonight that is, when one of them poked his little head out from under the LR.

For a split second, I wasn't even sure I was seeing right, but sure enough after a two month disappearance there was one of my engineers checking me out as I watched the tank.

Maybe I need an engineer only tank....then I don't have to even feed lol

I'll bet that's was a good feeling and the other one is probably still around too. I had a wheeler goby in an AIO nano and it disappeared after about a week. Several months later I was siphoning some water from the rear chambers of the tank and I saw something flash. Pulled out a flashlight and sure enough it was him.

Yeah, I had a small jawfish make it all the way down to my sump once....

But, I was very happy to find my engineer. I'm now constantly searching for the other one, but so far haven't found it. Strange thing is that now that I know the engineer is still there I see it all the time....
